1. It's my Dad's birthday today, he turns 48..woo..seems just like yesterday i was teasing him for being 47..haha..he doesn't read my blog, but still, Happy Birthday Pa.
2. I watched MI3 just now; not that bad for the 3rd instalment of a trilogy. I'm a sucker for intelligence and espionage stuff and the covert ops in the movie were a fun watch, especially the Vatican City one. Philip Seymour Hoffman, who played the bad guy in the movie( though he was a bit too pudgy for a bad guy), put in a very credible performance. Being more of a 'critic-approved arthouse' actor, Hoffman admitted that an actor sometimes needs a Hollywood blockbuster kind of role (i wonder if it's because of the moolah..hahah); and that's what the entire MI franchise has been about - expensive toys, babes, destruction and a whole lot of other Tinseltown cliches - but what the heck, its frivolously good entertainment mate! MI will be best remembered for its killer theme song; I really liked the OST for MI2 'cos of all the sweet rock bands it featured, naturally...hahah...Limp Bizkit, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Rob Zombie, Kid Rock..headbanging stuff!! Da Vinci Code, Poseidon and X3 to watch next.
3. Roy Keane's United testimonial is being played tonight. Too bad its not on TV, but once again, I salute Keano and everything he epitomises. There is only one Keano...
4. The EPL season's ended, and to quote John Dykes in Football Focus, 'its been a Season of Goodbyes'. I somehow feel this season's got alot more farewells than most. Notable retirements - Shearer, Bergkamp, Duncan Ferguson(prbly). Possible departures from EPL - Henry, van Nistelrooy. Arsenal's last season at Highbury.Alan Curbishley leaving Charlton. The passing of greats like George Best and Ron Greenwood. Who are the EPL champions? beats me...
