Thank You Sire

Its been a busy week, not had much time to write here. I went for the Oasis concert last thursday with angheng. It was like a personal pilgrimage for me, i think i'll talk about that another day.

After a torrid footballing session the previous week, my game picked up last sunday.Everyone's did, actually. Maybe it was the kind weather, but the conditions really allowed me to play. I found my 'running' game and managed to notch a few goals and assists. I guess i was out to prove the doubters wrong - myself included...hahah...

But i want to pay tribute to a great man today. S Rajaratnam passed away on february 22nd, aged 90. Before his passing, i knew him only as a former foreign minister and the one who wrote the national pledge. Ironically - as is the case so often - i discovered we had lost a mountain of a man only after his death. I never had the privilege of seeing him in action or meeting him, but his passing gave me some direction and guidance in some of the personal issues i've been grappling with for some time. The newspapers have already put in all the superlatives, the anecdotes and the quotes in his tributes, so it'd be redundant of me to do that here. All i want to say is that i'm very grateful to Mr Rajaratnam for being such an inspiration and a guiding light, personally. Its a gift i never thought i'd receive. And if i can use this gift to be even 1% of the man he was, i'd consider myself very lucky.

Thank You Sire
