0845

I had a very eventful start to the day.Today was the last day of my semestral finals, paper was at 0900, Southeast Asian studies module. Being a last-minute worker, i burnt the proverbial midnight oil to cram as much as i could 'spout' for the essays. Alright alright, i've told myself countless times that last-minute 'preparations' are not the way to go, but i always end up doing otherwise..haha.

Usually, I'd be done for the night by about 3am. But this time, i got 'greedy' and stayed up till 4.30am;since it was my last paper, i thought i'd put in a strong finish. Was supposed to wake up at 0630 so i could comfortably reach school at 0830 for the 0900 paper. The sleeping 'God' in me obviously had other ideas...

Next thing i know, i opened my eyes, looked at my Manchester United clock, and it was freaking 0845 !! I took a split second to realise it was tuesday, 29th nov, the day of my SEA paper - and i was in my bed at Hougang at 0845 for a 0900 paper at NUS !!! SIAO LIAO..!!!

Time to scramble !!! Changed to my lucky United jersey ( at least i got that right), washed my face without brushing my teeth ( ok i brushed at 4am before i went to bed so i'm not that disgusting), put on a cap ( no time to tidy up my messy hair la..), grabbed my stuff and i was outta there. As expected, i had missed calls on the mobile, and got a call to my house from Kati just after i had woken up.( better late than never la..) Luckily i got a cab at such an hour, and a very cooperative cabbie who rushed me there and even wished me luck. I want to thank him for coming to my aid, his cab was the luck i needed, and got. Phew...

I got to the exam hall at 0920, not too shabby. I won't do as well i would've liked to, but i still put in a creditable 'performance' given the time i had. Three essays in 1hr 40min is do-able with time- management and organisation of ideas.

I was actually laughing about it at the end of the paper, because i knew i got away with it, this time. But its a lesson learnt. It's kind of a good thing i committed this blunder on my first finals, i would've paid a much higher price had i done it in my subsequent finals.Would've been screwed if i'd woken up 10-15min later too. Also, time- management well- applied can do wonders.

Surprisingly i was very calm about the whole thing.I attribute this to my job in NS, where i faced multiple deadlines, pressure, stress, scrutiny and worked to resolve problematic scenarios as they occurred real-time, on a daily basis. ( See, NS does pay)

Well, exams are over. So, Woohoo and Yeehaw !!!

My buddy Psycho also underwent knee surgery today to reconstruct his ACL ( anterior cruciate ligament). Its a long and winding road to recovery but i'm sure he'll do it just fine given his willpower and determination. And of course, the support of his friends and loved ones who'll all be praying for a successful recovery.

So join me in praying for him, won't you?
